Freedom Of Attention Leads To Developing Intention & Letting Go

Transitions always feel more momentous to me than they are. But freeing up my ATTENTION is huge. The fewer efforts, possessions, people/relationships, etc that you have, the larger percent of your ultimately limited sub-conscious and conscious attention you can place or allocate for each. There is a type of freedom in less; a freedom of attention. Freedom of attention is necessary for focusing thoughts and ultimately developing INTENTION. Clearing time on your schedule is a great start but there is something about clearing the number of people, places and things that you are responsible for, worry about, and/or ingest mentally and/or physically.
With this attention, I can have any intention I like. For example, I would like to achieve a balance between writing, music, language, art and administrative things. But I don’t want to have a hard and fast schedule or task list. I want to flow in the moment and let inspiration take me where I need to go. Boredom, in my new pursuits, is actually critical. And task lists are the enemy of creative inspiration. Meditation, which can be misconstrued as just sitting on your ass, is also critical. Notions of the spiritual nature and the nature of life require a lot more thinking than writing down. My intention is balance between my pursuits, defined as NOT feeling that I am neglecting or missing out on any one of them. I want to feel that I am enjoying and attending to each sufficiently. But I know that if I make a hard schedule or task list that I will approach each with a productivity mindset and not a creative or inspired mindset and the results will be crap. What I want is for my inspiration on each to take turns; to be inspired to write one day, and inspired to make music another, etc. I want my inspiration to be balanced in it’s callings to me.
The solution is what it always seems to be…. let go. I need to let go of pre-programmed notions of needing to be constantly busy; being measured by productivity. I will ask for this balance and let go of the desire for it and it will come back to me perfectly as it should in a way that supports my purpose.
Freedom of attention creates space for intention, which creates your reality when you give over your intention to the higher energy and let it bring you to where you need to be.
I always seem to need a reminder of that. Thank you.
