Question: By Sending Energy Or Even Love, Am I Not Changing What Is Not My Business To Change?

When you start to internalize just how much you can affect other people’s energy, subconscious, and other aspects, your first reaction will be terror. The idea that anyone can affect anyone else in these ways is terrifying, because we know that some people would use that kind of power to detriment others, or to gain their own agenda, without regard to others. We might question ourselves – would that kind of power corrupt even the best of us? This brings us to the question of ethics and ethical standards for working with energy and consciousness.

I will offer some standards here that I use myself. As always, question everything and craft the set of ethical standards that works for you and your journey.

When you first become versed in energy work or consciousness work, you are spending most of your time in Stage 8-11. You feel love for all humanity. You see what you perceive as suffering and you want to help. After all, now you have the tools and the skills to change their situation. So don’t you have the responsibility to save them? NO. Maybe they don’t need to be saved. Maybe they are here in this incarnation to learn lessons of suffering, loss, pain, etc. Maybe they are repeating old and painful ancestral patterns and unconsciously calling suffering into their lives. You don’t know what they are here to experience, you don’t know what they are here to learn, and you don’t know what gifts they are here to give humanity that may depend on this perceived suffering. You don’t know their path, so who are you to interfere? How dare you take away their pain. It was here to teach them. How dare you interfere with their own personal choices and soul contracts. The most fundamental rule is to not affect anyone without their knowledge and permission. You run the risk of disrupting their learning, ultimately making the next lesson even more painful. Each beautiful soul on this planet deserves the autonomy choosing their own experiences. If we do unto others as we would have others do unto us, we would hope others would not affect us without our knowledge and permission.

You might connect in to the whole of humanity, or the whole of the earth, or the whole of the universe, or just a group of people such as town who recently suffered a tornado or other disaster. You might connect in with people experiencing war or famine or oppression. When connecting in with a group of people, sending love, healing, awareness or simply “whatever is in their best and highest interest,” you are accessing a higher permission; the permission of source. Understanding that whatever you wish for them, you wish for yourself, it is OK to send them wishes for helpful or positive things. The phrase, “whatever is in their best and highest interests,” is a powerful one. You might call on their guides or archangels to bring them whatever is in their best and highest interest. In that way, you are assisting the path and calling on their guides when they may not yet know how to call on them themselves.

Sometimes you may be aware of an individual who is in a coma, too young to agree or otherwise unable to approve of your actions. In these cases, send “whatever is in their best and highest interests.” This allows their guides to act on your behalf.

You might also just send LOVE. Love, is not just an emotion. The Archangel Michael told me that, “Love is the material of existence.” Sending love is never detrimental. Love does not oppress or prevent the journey or get in the way of individual choices. Love is patient. Love is kind. You get the idea. By sending love, you are sending the material of existence to amplify their existence, and for them to use in any way that their higher self deems in their best and highest interest. You cannot go wrong sending love.

Here is where we need to work a little harder to discern when and how to act. Having the understanding and skills to work with energy and consciousness comes with responsibility – the responsibility to be an instrument of Source/God/Allah/Tao/Etc. This requires connecting to source, and being compelled to help particular individuals in specific ways. You may be compelled to send love, or to alter their energy in a specific way (clear something, open something, add something). You might be compelled to know something, or witness something, or apply certain karmic patterns. You need to be really really careful here. Are you being compelled by the divine or by your own ego? Source will never ask you to place negative energy or thoughts into anyone. Source will never ask you to oppress or control. Source will not act from a place of fear, but only from a place of love. Develop the skills to know the difference. We are the instruments of Source on this earth. We serve everyone equally. We are guided by our guides and theirs. And we serve in love. It is an honor to be an instrument of Source. Develop the skills to easily discern the difference between compelling that comes from Source and impulse that comes from your human ego. When in doubt, ask the guides. When still in doubt, do not act. And remember that what you do to another, you do to yourself, quite literally. Operating as an instrument of Source is a skill set that is worth developing and will teach you many things along your own journey.

There is one gray area that I struggle with, and that is connecting in to others to see their truth, wether or not I have permission to do so. Although I have no intention to alter anything about them, I do connect in with individuals and groups and animals to see their truth. It is a bit of a security mechanism and I suspect we all do it in some form or another – we talk about how someone gave us a creep vibe or a good vibe. But the ethics are murky. Is it OK if I am not changing anything? Or was Heisenburg right – we cannot observe a system without changing it. If so, then to observe the truth of another’s energy and consciousness is to change them in some way, and without permission. Yikes. Regardless, it is not a practice that I intend to give up. Sometimes, I regret who I tune in to; I see things that I would rather not have seen. Sometimes I see beautiful things too. All in all, I handle this one by asking my guides and Source itself to block me, if my connecting in would detriment anyone. If I can connect, then I am OK to see their truth. Asking your guides to block you from doing any harm is a great way to make sure that you will never do any harm.

There are three levels of power: physical, energetic and consciousness. To affect anyone on any of these levels begs serious ethical discussion. I hope these rules and exceptions give us a starting point to discuss the ethics of the skills we are developing along this journey. In all things, you must decide for yourself.
