Psychic Vs Intuitive – Here Is The Difference

,
I am, among other things, an intuitive guide, but am sometimes mistaken for or expected to be psychic. There is a subtle but important difference between psychic and intuitive practices. Let’s get into it! The difference is where the truth comes from. A psychic will be able to derive the truth with or without you knowing anything, even if you don’t want them to know the truth, and even if you don’t know the truth at all. An intuitive will be able to pick up on the truth that your higher self or your subconscious wants them to know, but may be blocking your human consciousness from seeing.
Let’s take a look at some examples. Suppose that you find yourself repeating a pattern of negative behavior and wonder why. You just can’t figure out why you keep doing this to yourself, but you want to stop. In this scenario, an intuitive guide can tap into your subconscious, your god consciousness (higher self) and your guides (through you) to find out why you do what you do. Deep down (or high up) you know why, you just can’t see it. It might be passed down from an ancestor, but which one? It might be from your own past baggage, but which experience? The intuitive guide can nail down exactly what is going on, where the behavior came from and, more importantly, how to heal it and remove it from your life. The intuitive guide can guide you through a series of thought exercises, energy work and consciousness work to connect with, heal and then release the source of the problem and therefore the problem itself. In this scenario, the psychic would be able to nail down the root cause, but not understand how to heal it and let it go.
On the other hand, let’s suppose that someone has gone missing, and you need to find them, or you want the details to another type of unsolved crime. This is where the psychic shines. You don’t know the answer, even deep down or high up. Nobody knows. The psychic can pull the information from the one consciousness itself, with or without your help. The intuitive guide could tell you what your higher self thinks happened, but if your higher self really does not know, you will not get your answers there.
In the venn diagram of psychic abilities and intuitive abilities, they share one particular area where they both work well, and that is channelling information from your ancestors and loved ones who have passed on. The intuitive might also have access to guides who were never human, such as angels and light beings. There is a lot of overlap in the psychic/intuitive space.
One major difference would be that if you know what you are doing, you can block an intuitive from seeing the truth, even if you know it. For example, if you want to “test” an intuitive by asking what your own parent’s name is, and you block them, because you want them to fail, they will not be able to see it. The intuitive is reflecting your higher self that wants to heal or progress in the personal and/or spiritual journey. The psychic is more brute-force and will see the information whether you try to block it or not.
So if you need information that someone is trying to hide, or that nobody near you knows anything about, a psychic is a great fit. If you need information that you know deep down but just cannot access, and you then want to know what to DO with that information to heal, let go, and otherwise grow in your personal journey, an intuitive guide is the right fit for your situation. Some providers can do both and some specialize in one or the other.
Personally, I purposefully avoid many psychic practices because they tend to involve crime and therefore the ugly things that people are capable of doing to each other, and it affects me too much. In my practice, I stick to intuitive guidance for personal growth and transformation, which always ends in joy and self understanding!
So there you have it. That is the crucial difference between a psychic and an intuitive. Which one is right for your particular situation?
