It is age old and so very simple and true that we have lost is, quite often, in the business of daily life. It goes like this&#8230; In loving, I am loved. In giving, I am given. Pick any verb, X, and it will be true that, \u201cIn X-ing, I am X-ed\/en.\u201d Lets try it&#8230;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<div>In loving, I am loved<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In giving, I am given<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In hating, I am hated<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In serving, I am served<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In learning, I am learned<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In knowing, I am known<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In feeding, I am fed<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In acting on, I am acted on<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In receiving, I am received<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In holding, I am held<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In protecting, I am protected<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In healing, I am healed<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In uniting, I am united<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<div>In being, I AM<\/div>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We know that what we put out into the world, comes back to us like ripples on the water. We know this. But I don\u2019t think we really always understand it. It is not just philosophical platitude. It is physical truth.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If you put hate out into the world, you are in essence, because all is one, hating yourself. By hating yourself, you draw hate to yourself and naturally feel more hate in your life. In hating, I am hated. If you put out hate towards others you end up physically living in a hateful reality.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>If you send love out, you are loving yourself as the larger humanity, so you attract more love and your world becomes a loving place. You see and feel love all around you, literally and physically. When you receive from others, you are received by others. When you heal others, you are healed within yourself as well. When you unite others, you are made whole. When you act on the world, you are acted upon in the same way.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>This is why we get sayings like, \u201cDo unto others, as you would have them do unto you.\u201d Because they will do unto you, exactly as you have done to them. Sacred texts say, \u201cGive, and it will be given.\u201d.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The reason we don\u2019t always see it, is that we may receive it back through a different route than the one we sent it out on. You might help someone, and then be helped by someone else. We might send love to one person, and then receive love from a different person. We might give to a charity, and receive a pay raise at work, or some other good fortune.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So think of your actions as affecting the world or humanity at large. Then you can see how your grumpy attitude this morning at work came back to you through your teenager this evening. You will see how helping that older woman carry her groceries last weekend came back as a new opportunity at work. We should be looking for opportunities every day to send out love, joy, freedom, healing, and other things we would like to receive.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>But the most profound of all of these is this&#8230; IN BEING, I AM. Being is the only verb that has no action. I AM, is another phrase for the divine.
