Word art. I was taken some years ago by the story of Hemingway, who would write stories of any word length he was challenged to. The most famous example was: “For sale. Baby Shoes. Never worn.” I love this idea of incredibly concise, well chosen words creating an entire story from what is not said. I decided, as no one is Hemingway, to give myself ten words to describe particular moments in my real life in this same way. Join me! I will post new ten word stories here as I write them.

Send me your ten word stories and I might post them here in the list below!

THE RULES

It can be one or more sentences or phrases

It must describe an actual moment in your life, not a fictional moment

And you must do it all in exactly ten words, no more, no less.

#10WordStory

An eagle called the sun out from behind the clouds.

Mountain air rushed in to remind me I am free.

She decided to make what only she could: a choice.

Ten words told multitudes in all they did not say.

Flames shooting from the opening of the dryer.
