Use the resources and tasks as part of a more complete employee development program for a permanent shift.

Quick shifts in stage are great for meetings and efforts on specific topics. Shift teams into the right stage for the task by asking them the right set of questions to get them into the mindset at the start. Then, at the end, don’t forget to send them home in a more appropriate stage. Great home life stages include Stage Eight through Eleven. It takes just minutes to set the right tone for any task. The results will be worth it.

For example, suppose you need everyone in the company to be in Stage Four for the holiday season, focused on customer support. One way to do that is to choose a charity to sponsor and post it prominently as your employees walk through the door. In the break rooms, post questions that get them thinking about their favorite charities, or what kind of help they think is really needed, and how they would like to be involved. This will automatically have them focusing on the needs of others – Stage Four – and that attitude will translate to customer service naturally. Think about every time you ever walked into a store in December, and walked past a Salvation Army bell ringer. I bet the customer service inside was of higher quality than other stores that did not have a charity prominently displayed. It works!

Suppose you need to innovate a new product idea. Designate a specific work room and post a set of questions that dismantle the status quo for that product category. The human mind cannot leave a question unanswered. Just being in the room with these questions will make the team challenge the way things have always been done. If your company policies and procedures are important to you, then you should be careful to separate your innovation teams so that the Stage Seven mindset of questioning everything does not run rampant through the entire organization. If, however, you are in a startup that thrives on new ideas and questioning the way things are, then feel free, to post Stage Seven questions openly and get the new ideas flowing easily.

The point is to craft the right mindset, while understanding that your employees are human, they are traversing the cycle of development, and so are you, and we are all evolving all the time.

For any company, Stage Eight and Nine employees are incredible for just about anything. The problem becomes that most adults are in the Stage Three to Six range on a daily basis. And election years only make it worse, moving most people to Stage Five where they can be argumentative, divisive and confrontational. So what can you do? You can shift them temporarily into later stages on a daily basis. Or, if you really want it to stick, you can set up an employee development program for more permanent results.

Once someone reaches a solid Stage Eight (Purpose) or Nine (Consciousness), they will still sometimes be pulled around to other less productive stages, but they will not, in general, stay there long enough to cause too much damage to themselves or their productivity.

Through what essentially constitutes a book club, you can move large numbers of interested employees from Stage 3-6 to Stage 8-9 in a matter of a few months, without taking a lot of time out to do it. Follow the tasks and resource recommendations in the book, Purna Asatti: A Roadmap To A Better Life Through Complete Connection. Start at Stage One and work your way forward. Do the homework, read the resources, and offer an opportunity for open discussion and questions.

A more tailored employee development program might look like your employees receiving a set of books each month to move them along, with homework assignments through email, and a custom forum for discussion and questions where they have direct access to me. You may find that interested employees are happy to pursue this type of program in their off time because of the massive improvement in quality of overall life, work and relationships that comes with it.

People don’t leave companies, they leave managers. So when your company is a source of personal development, and your managers are a part of it, everyone will want to work for you, AND they will do a better job. Petty infighting, office politics, and other time wasters go by the wayside, making everyone more productive. It’s that simple.

A workplace guide to shifting yourself and your team into the optimal developmental stage for a task, using targeted questions for quick shifts and resources and homework for lasting change, with examples for customer service and innovation.

[1882,31
36,1429,654,180,280,649,981,947,1452,1857,977,309,1248,655,112,302,186,979,978,284,980,605,332,1361,283

post-2452","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project_category-business","project_category-observations","project_tag-art","project_tag-business","project_tag-complete-connection","project_tag-connection","project_tag-cycle","project_tag-cycle-of-human-development","project_tag-finding-peace","project_tag-human-development","project_tag-lasting-peace","project_tag-lastingpeace-org","project_tag-life-optimization","project_tag-money","project_tag-poetry","project_tag-purna-asatti","project_tag-relationships","project_tag-religion","project_tag-science","project_tag-seeing-yourself","project_tag-self-mastery","project_tag-self-development","project_tag-self-improvement-2","project_tag-self-understanding","project_tag-society","project_tag-spirituality","project_tag-stages
For managers who want to set the right mindset for meetings, projects and whole teams, temporarily or permanently.
