We say things to ourselves and about ourselves that we would never say to our friends or family. Even our least favorite people on the planet get more respect. What is your typical self-talk? Do you call yourself ugly, or beautiful? Do you talk to remind yourself of what you are good at or what you will “never” be able to do. Do you use words like can’t and don’t and never and always and insult yourself? We often hear about the need to love ourselves but we seldom hear WHY we should love ourselves.

You see, at the start of the universe, there was nothing. If you are religious, then you believe that your deity (God, Allah, The Tao, Vishnu, etc) crated it all, including you. But there was nothing to create from, except The divine itself. So think about it… you are created BY the divine, FROM the divine, OF the divine. The matter that makes up that body you claim is so flawed and those quirks you denigrate yourself over, is GOD himself. Your God took a part of his own pure divinity to create YOU. And your God resides in you, watching the unfolding that is your journey, anticipating the fulfillment of your purpose. So what you say to yourself, you say to the divine.

How would you speak to your God as you unfold this journey together? And what might your God say in return? It’s a different conversation now, isn’t it?

A short spiritual reflection arguing that how you talk to yourself is how you talk to the divine, since you are created of the divine, and inviting readers to reconsider their harsh self-talk in that light.

[1886,31
36,654,180,280,649,1746,412,981,947,184,1452,977,1248,655,302,186,979,113,978,1745,284,980,605,1361,283,1744,1747

post-2200","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","project_category-57challenges","project_category-observations","project_tag-art","project_tag-complete-connection","project_tag-connection","project_tag-cycle","project_tag-cycle-of-human-development","project_tag-denigration","project_tag-divine","project_tag-finding-peace","project_tag-human-development","project_tag-journey","project_tag-lasting-peace","project_tag-life-optimization","project_tag-poetry","project_tag-purna-asatti","project_tag-religion","project_tag-science","project_tag-seeing-yourself","project_tag-self","project_tag-self-mastery","project_tag-self-talk","project_tag-self-development","project_tag-self-improvement-2","project_tag-self-understanding","project_tag-spirituality","project_tag-stages","project_tag-talk","project_tag-talk-to-your-god
For anyone whose inner voice is harshly self-critical, reframing self-talk as a sacred conversation worth changing.
Dr. Kathryn Messegee (Kathryn Colleen), "Talk To Your God With That Mouth?," https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/project/talk-to-your-god-with-that-mouth/
spirit","mind

https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/wp-content/uploads/2019/07/D590E3C3-A6FB-4F0B-84DA-065947DB82A6.jpeg
https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/wp-content/uploads/2021/10/CCA57320-6DC3-4284-BC27-49E433028503.jpeg

Talk To Your God With That Mouth?

/*!
