Turning 50 shortly after a major surgery has a way of making you examine your life balance. I was craving some adventure, when it hit me. I have an entire bucket list of things I have wanted to do that I put on hold since 2019. I decided to start checking them off!<\/p>\n
But I don\u2019t want to blow through all of our bucket list travel too quickly, and I want to save the most epic trips for last. The solution was a five year plan with one bucket list travel adventure per year, building up to more exciting trips each year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This does a number of useful things. First, obviously, it lets us check off our bucket list. But more importantly, it brings a spark of fun and something deeply personal for us to look forward to for years to come. It also gives us a forced break from Geode to freshen our minds at least once per year. Stepping away from the Geode marathon for a short while helps me see the forrest for the trees, and how to grow the forrest best.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n I will be sure to report out on each trip at it happens with the first one coming up this year: Walking the Camino del Santiago in Spain\/Portugal.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, Geode is coming along beautifully and I am amazed at how it attracts the coolest people. It is a marathon for sure with a very long term view and organic progress. What is great about organic growth is that it brings real people and real community engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So it looks like an epic year for both Geode and myself!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n What\u2019s on your bucket list?
