The passing of my uncle took me unexpectedly to a week focused on Family, love and connection while the circle of life brought good news of a new grandbaby on the way this summer! The new focus on family, relationships and connection is a preview of the new nine year cycle of my life that starts next month. We all go through a phase of life where generations are turning over. For me, that phase is now. We can approach that with fear &#8211; fear of our own end-times &#8211; or with the apprehension as the line inches forward. I choose to approach it with love and surrender. None of us knows the number of our days, but we can choose how we use them. Last Fall, when my father passed, I learned the lesson well that your health is the most important thing, your relationships are the second most important thing and everything else is nice to have, but wholly unimportant when it comes down to it. The spiritual nature of these most recent passings has been perhaps the most surprising thing. The further you are in your personal and spiritual journey, the easier the last days become, the less fear you have, and the more options you have as you decide when to leave this incarnation. That being said, I might list your spiritual journey as the third most important thing.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Meanwhile, Geode Blockchain hit a major milestone as I gave up my super user powers (SUDO) via code upgrade and ensured that no one on the system will ever have super user powers in the future. Geode is now fully decentralized and community-led! Centralized systems such as those we all know and love all have super users &#8211; accounts with the power to do anything to any other account. While centralized systems would never give that up, the best blockchains do. This is a very big deal in the life of a blockchain, fully democratizing every decision made on the chain from here on out. The training wheels are off and Mama is no longer holding on. It was a joy to give up this role and step back to let the community run itself. While I still sit on the council, I do not have any more voice or vote than anyone else in the community now and that is ideal. The Geode community is stepping up to lead and that is very exciting to see!<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So here is to the eventful months that shape us and teach us.
