This week, I finished a new painting, taught two workshops at the fabulous SunShip Transformation Center and was deep in thought on how to completely reverse the current economy to usher in a new era of creative livelihood for all. What!?!? I have a friend with a brilliant idea. Today, creative people of all kinds make all kinds of creative things: videos, books, articles, podcasts, songs, CAD drawings, sculptures, engineering designs, ideas both patentable and license worthy, and so much more. And today, those artists then must go out and try to sell those things by finding people with money who will give them some money in exchange for the thing. But WHAT IF the act of producing that creative thing causes money to spring into existence in your account? What if you could give the thing away to someone and you would BOTH get paid out of thin air? Yes, I realize that sounds nuts. It sounds nuts because we are used to the ancient model of money existing because a government created it and printed it. Blockchain and its associated cryptocurrencies are now mature enough to bring about the wild and wonderful world I just mentioned. What if you could sell your latest painting for dollars AND mine crypto out of the air by posting about the fact that you painted it. Not a replacement for the current way we make creative livelihoods, but a major augmentation. That day is coming. That\u2019s all I can say about it for now, but get your friends on my mailing list if you want to know more as it develops .
