But very effective and easy to use if you want to understand yourself and work with your natural disposition more effectively. I like this system because it starts by analyzing your natural disposition as an individual. There is no one size fits all. There are five elements (earth, fire, etc) that combine to make three doshas or qualities. I am going to massively over simplify here, because I want you to use it even if you never research it further. My apologies to the Ayurvedic community, but if you break it down to the simplest level, you might define the three doshas as basically: airy, light, up in the atmosphere (vata), fire driven action (pitta) and grounded, stable, earthiness (kapha). As an individual, I am naturally very grounded, and yet action oriented, and damn near never head in the clouds, multitasking, or running in a hundred directions. So my natural disposition is kapha-pitta, with an emphasis on kapha as primary, but pitta close behind. Grounded fire. That’s all well and good, but what can you do with that? Everything! I will be most in balance when I maintain my own natural grounded fire. For me, too much vata puts me out of balance. I can only take a little vata at a time. Everything from the food we eat to our daily activities falls under one of these three: ethereal, fiery, or grounded. I travel a lot right now and that is a very fleeting and vata activity. Since my natural nature has almost no vata, I have to pause twice daily to ground, and keep moderately busy with exciting fiery efforts to keep the balance for myself. Grounding can look like meditation, yoga, a long walk, massage, journaling, getting new tattoos or any number of things that feel grounding to me. And fiery efforts can look like writing for public consumption, art, music, teaching, and other such effort towards my purpose, because that feels fiery to me. The next many months for me are super super vata. Lots of travel, moving to and fro, meeting new people and all such ethereal things. So grounding is hard, and getting out of balance means no drive left for those purpose driven efforts. It’s a daily challenge. Recognizing that, I can go hard on grounding first, and then on action and let that rule the proportion of my schedule. So what is YOUR natural disposition? How can you maintain YOUR unique balance? Is your job supporting that? Are your hobbies supporting that? Is your food supporting that? Look up a dosha quiz and try it out!

A post explaining the Ayurvedic dosha system in simplified terms—vata, pitta, and kapha—and how the author uses her grounded kapha-pitta nature to stay balanced amid heavy travel, inviting readers to find their own balance.

[5
44,1419,864,540,1625,1926,1781,357,1005,1003,1481,944,934,1454,1460,1002,43,1929,1927,865,371,879,354,1006,355,1004,372,358,1589,1928
post-4049","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-diary","tag-art","tag-business","tag-complete-connection","tag-connection","tag-consciousness","tag-consciousness-mastery","tag-couples","tag-cycle","tag-cycle-of-human-development","tag-finding-peace","tag-global-peace","tag-human-development","tag-kathryn-colleen","tag-lasting-peace","tag-lastingpeace-org","tag-life-optimization","tag-music","tag-personal","tag-podcasts","tag-purna-asatti","tag-religion","tag-roadmap","tag-seeing-yourself","tag-self-mastery","tag-self-development","tag-self-improvement","tag-spirituality","tag-stages","tag-understanding-people","tag-writing
For anyone curious about Ayurveda as a practical self-knowledge tool, this friendly primer on the doshas shows how to work with your natural disposition to stay balanced—especially during busy, unsettled seasons.
Dr. Kathryn Messegee (Kathryn Colleen), "Too Much Vata - The Incredibly Practical Dosha System In Action In My World," https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/too-much-vata-the-incredibly-practical-dosha-system-in-action-in-my-world/
health","growth
["GET
