I love to teach workshops. The connection it offers makes it possible to teach a class that is tailored to each individual’s needs in some way. There are moments of realization for us all. When a workshop is over, I am exhausted and thrilled and flying high and ready to collapse all at the same time. Next month we will have three more workshops at the ever amazing Peace Circle in Falling Waters WV just outside of DC. Until then, I’ll take a little break to enjoy some of the soul filling classes and workshops that others are offering. The lesson is this: teach and be taught. We are here to help and to be helped. Balance in everything. Meanwhile, I had the immense privilege to sit with the truly talented Emily and receive some new tattoos. Her studio is a sanctuary. So carefully crafted and filled with her intensely creative and old-soul flow. She really understands the art of working with the human body as a canvas. She adjusts size and placement just so, making the art work at its best. She offers an environment that can be anything from fun to spiritual, reveling to therapeutic. If you need an artist in the Hagerstown MD area, email me and I will connect you. Emily is truly gifted. (You are! You’re amazing, Emily!) Breathing through the pain and soaking in a bit of tattoo-as-ceremony, it occurred to me why I like tattoos so much. My tattoos all represent lessons that I don’t want to forget. You see, sometimes on the journey we have to sit with scary things and those scary things can make us want to go back to sleep. I don’t want to go back to sleep. I want to live the deep work of this journey. And so it is. Two new pieces challenged me in the chair today and I find myself even more committed to my mission and my journey.

A diary entry on the author’s joy and exhaustion teaching workshops and receiving new tattoos, reflecting on the balance of teaching and being taught and on tattoos as reminders of lessons she doesn’t want to forget.

[5
44,1419,864,540,1625,1926,1781,357,1005,1003,1481,944,934,1454,1460,1002,43,1929,1927,865,371,879,354,1006,355,1004,372,358,1589,1928
post-4045","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-diary","tag-art","tag-business","tag-complete-connection","tag-connection","tag-consciousness","tag-consciousness-mastery","tag-couples","tag-cycle","tag-cycle-of-human-development","tag-finding-peace","tag-global-peace","tag-human-development","tag-kathryn-colleen","tag-lasting-peace","tag-lastingpeace-org","tag-life-optimization","tag-music","tag-personal","tag-podcasts","tag-purna-asatti","tag-religion","tag-roadmap","tag-seeing-yourself","tag-self-mastery","tag-self-development","tag-self-improvement","tag-spirituality","tag-stages","tag-understanding-people","tag-writing
For readers who enjoy a reflective diary, this shares the author's love of teaching workshops and the meaning she finds in tattoos as reminders of hard-won lessons.
