On the awesome side of life, we have new tour stops to announce! We will be in San Antonio through January 30th, then on to the Dallas / Ft Worth area February 1-6, and then on to the fabulous Natchez, Mississippi February 7 – March 9th. If you would like to host a small meetup for book discussions, and intuitive readings, let me know.

Meanwhile, everyone is twisting themselves in knots over politics and social issues. If you don’t like being stressed out and exhausted by world events, you do have a choice. You may be spinning yourself up about things that are happening quite far away from you. Or you may be in the thick of it yourself. You may feel called to create change. Or you may be called to something else entirely. But you will not help anyone, create anything or change anything very effectively if you are stressed out, depressed or angry. It comes down to these important points…

If your peace of mind is dependent on the headlines, or on any temporary state of the world (and they are all temporary) you have given away far too much authority over your mind and your time.

All you have is right now. YOUR right now. YOUR reality. YOUR history and YOUR future.

The only thing you can control is YOU. Ask yourself, what are you going to go with this day to forward your purpose? This is not to say that you should ignore world events. This is where is gets hard. We feel like we must choose between blissful ignorance or stressed out awareness. What if there is a third option? I have the same dilemma, so I have been experimenting with some other options. Here are some things to try for yourself. See what works best for you.

Filtered news feeds – there are a number of nicely filtered news feeds out there now, like 1440, that take the large majority of the opinion out of the headlines and report mostly just the facts. Some opinion slips through in biased language but complete unbiased reporting, I believe, is impossible. These newsletter style feeds come once a day. See if you can restrict yourself to feeding on news just once a day.

News about all the beautiful things – set up a new feed for yourself, using rss readers or google news feeds, etc that helps to make sure you get the latest happenings in the subjects that feed your soul. You might have an astrophysics feed, an art feed or dance, chemistry, music, or anything else that you enjoy. There is so much more to life than politics. Make sure you see some of the rest of it. To get you started, this post features a picture of Maxwell totally stoked to just be a dog living the tour bus life.

If you can pull off reducing your news consumption to once a day, try once a week. After a week off of news, and frankly social media too, I find that I return with much more emotional distance. You can get the big picture of what people think is happening without it stressing you out.

Go outside. Look around. Walk through your neighborhood or town and get the real truth for yourself about what is happening right around you. Your own perspective on your immediate reality is the most effective. Then you can make decisions for yourself. Are there people here you need to help? Local help is always the most effective. Do you need to go somewhere else? Are you in any actual danger? You will be able to assess that too and make decisions for yourself based on reality, courtesy of your own eyes and ears.

EMOTIONAL DISTANCE is the key. It’s about getting the information that you need, while remaining detached so that you can make the best decisions. Remember that any decision made in fear or anger, multiplies those emotions. If you want a reality based more in love, connection, and peace, then you will have to be in those states when you choose.

But how can I see people suffering, or see injustice and NOT feel upset?!? You cannot. So feel it for a minute. Let it be. Then take that energy and transform it into love. Send love to those people. Send caring and peace and other good emotions to balance out their situation. Then, in that state of love, peace and connection, choose your next action.

Love and light to you all,

KC

A post announcing new Texas and Mississippi tour stops, then offering practical methods for staying calm amid distressing world events—filtered news, reduced consumption, local perspective, and emotional distance—so decisions come from love and peace rather than fear.

[157,5
44,1419,864,540,1625,1926,1781,357,1005,1003,1481,944,934,1454,1460,1002,43,1929,1927,865,371,879,354,1006,355,1004,372,358,1589,1928
post-3524","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-madmax","category-diary","tag-art","tag-business","tag-complete-connection","tag-connection","tag-consciousness","tag-consciousness-mastery","tag-couples","tag-cycle","tag-cycle-of-human-development","tag-finding-peace","tag-global-peace","tag-human-development","tag-kathryn-colleen","tag-lasting-peace","tag-lastingpeace-org","tag-life-optimization","tag-music","tag-personal","tag-podcasts","tag-purna-asatti","tag-religion","tag-roadmap","tag-seeing-yourself","tag-self-mastery","tag-self-development","tag-self-improvement","tag-spirituality","tag-stages","tag-understanding-people","tag-writing
Useful for readers feeling overwhelmed by the news cycle who want concrete, gentle strategies for protecting their peace of mind while staying informed and engaged.
Dr. Kathryn Messegee (Kathryn Colleen), "New Tour Stops And Ideas For Remaining Calm Among The Chaos," https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/new-tour-stops-and-ideas-for-remaining-calm-among-the-chaos/
growth","mind
["GET
