I am now a perpetual noob. Every new town is unknown. Every new road a new challenge to drive. Every new group of people an unknown cloud of energy with new perspectives and challenges. Where is the grocery store? Where is a good hiking trail? A good restaurant? The next group meditation? I don’t know. It’s the one thing I say now more than ever before. I don’t know. I spend more and more time researching each new town to find whatever I need next. What a blessing that we have things like google maps, all trails, and yelp. Technology makes it easy to find just about anything. Anything except your confidence. Autism makes me stress out about the new and unfamiliar. And now life is 100% new and unfamiliar. I am hoping that maybe if new and unfamiliar becomes the new normal, then unfamiliar may become the most familiar thing of all. In other words, if change is normal, then maybe change will not be stressful. Time will tell. Meanwhile, the tour bus is still in the shop and we have shifted to a hotel while she is up on the lifts. Maxwell has had quite enough of all this change and is ready to get back in the bus we call home. I feel the same way. We hope to be back on the road by the end of the month.

A personal diary entry on the discomfort of constant newness in full-time travel—unfamiliar towns, roads, and people—and the hope that if change becomes normal, it may eventually stop feeling stressful, especially given the author’s autism.

[5
44,1419,864,540,1625,1926,1781,357,1005,1003,1481,944,934,1454,1460,1002,43,1929,1927,865,371,879,354,1006,355,1004,372,358,1589,1928
post-3296","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-diary","tag-art","tag-business","tag-complete-connection","tag-connection","tag-consciousness","tag-consciousness-mastery","tag-couples","tag-cycle","tag-cycle-of-human-development","tag-finding-peace","tag-global-peace","tag-human-development","tag-kathryn-colleen","tag-lasting-peace","tag-lastingpeace-org","tag-life-optimization","tag-music","tag-personal","tag-podcasts","tag-purna-asatti","tag-religion","tag-roadmap","tag-seeing-yourself","tag-self-mastery","tag-self-development","tag-self-improvement","tag-spirituality","tag-stages","tag-understanding-people","tag-writing
For readers facing constant change or navigating unfamiliarity with anxiety, this honest reflection on becoming a 'perpetual noob' offers companionship and a hopeful reframe.
Dr. Kathryn Messegee (Kathryn Colleen), "The Perpetual Noob," https://kathryncolleen.com/studio/the-perpetual-noob/
essays","growth
["GET
