Road Trip! We enjoyed a trip to see some of our favorite people: some of our all grown up kids (Hey sweet babies!), one set of parents, and some soul family. Sometimes family is bound by blood, and sometimes it is something much more profound. You know your soul family when you meet them. It’s like you are back in familiar territory and very much at home. And in rather uncharacteristic fashion for me, I did not teach on this trip. I just took a day to hang out with a soul sister and fellow peace mission junkie. (Thank you, Tonya!). I seem to have forgotten the joys of just hanging out. We went to a sound bath, had some good food and even better conversation and took the time to just BE. It was glorious. In the driving that it took to get there and back I found another great opportunity to BE with my shiva. We talked and sorted out a lot of exciting plans through the lens of what we really want and the impacts we want to have. Back at the Tiny Ashram, we are so very happy to be back in our own beautiful space, once again missing our kids and our soul family, but rooted in our missions with a newfound understanding of the need to take a day to here and there not to DO, but just to BE. This is particularly important right now. Along the way, we noticed plenty of angst and generalized fear over inflation, gas prices, supply chains, world events and the future at large. Taking a day to be, or to unplug from headlines and just talk it out or think, allows us to act from a place of purpose, mission, love and compassion, instead of acting from a place of fear or anger. Remember, you get more of the emotion at the root of your choices. Act from fear and you will get more fear. Act from purpose and you will get more purpose and fulfillment of that purpose. You have a choice. You cannot cure suffering by suffering. I choose to double down on my mission in love and joy. Yep, a little more fun and a little more focus are both warranted.
