Hold on, this is going to get REALLY nerdy… Some training in Math and Physics is useful here. I do not tend to accept notions of the divine blindly. The scientist in me wants a scientific explanation. Luckily, I have found that religion and science are not mutually exclusive. In fact, I believe that when you find Science, Religion, and other subjects linking up nicely, then you have profound truth in front of you. Follow me on this thought exercise…
A field is a function yielding a number (scalar), for each point… In this case, for the Higgs Field, each position in spacetime (x, y, z, t) yields a single number value based on the energy found there.
The Higgs Field has a constant and continuous “vacuum expectation energy” value of 246 GeV. (it is everywhere all the time, as an energy flowing through all things and all space)
The Higgs Boson arises out of this field as a force carrier particle and has a mass of 126 GeV and a mean lifetime of 1.56 x 10^-22 seconds. (it does not last long. It comes into existence, does it’s job, and decays into other types of particles)
As particles move through the Higgs Field (which is pervasive and everywhere in the universe), Higgs Bosons transfer mass to them. (literally, they give them mass where they had no mass before).
In other words, Higgs Bosons create mass from the energy, effectively manifesting the physical world from the energy that flows through all things.
However, we must note that 99% of the mass of an object is due to the binding energy between quarks in protons and neutrons and NOT from the Higgs Boson directly.
The binding energy between those quarks comes from the strong force, and not directly from the Higgs Field.
The strong force is mediated/passed/arried by gluons which originate in the decay of a Higgs Boson.
SO… The Higgs Field gives rise to Higgs Bosons, which decay into all the other force carriers which in turn give mass to the building blocks of matter
Therefore the Higgs Field gives rise to all other forces and to all mass in the universe.
Thus, if any physical energy field was to be the Tao, or the universal energy, or God / The Divine, the Higgs Field is it.
It stands to reason that the mechanism for manifesting (our human ability to seemingly generate people, places and things into our lives), is likely some form of interaction between ourselves and the Higgs Field. Just an idea.
