I speak a lot about self-development, spiritual development and religious development. Traversing the cycle from seeing ourselves as our needs or our ideologies to seeing ourselves as a child of the universe/god/divine can be mistaken to be counter to religion and/or to science. I suggest that it is in line with both Religion AND Science.
In fact, I believe that when you find an idea that tis supported by all of religion, science, philosophy, music, art, etc then you are on to the truth. Both science and religion can be conduits to understanding the true nature of the universe. But I think it helps to put them together.
For the religious among you, the Bible says, “There is nothing new under the Sun, only that which is old and has been forgotten.” The clues are everywhere. Jesus said, “I am the way and the light.” And he was. And so are you. The bible teaches that we are all the children of God. We need to take that fact to heart – we are not separate from God/Allah/The Divine – we are each the light of the divine. The bible says so, the Quran says so, The Tao De Ching says so, as do the Vedas, The Dharmapada, Kabala, the Torah, and every other religious text out there. True, they say a lot of things, but you will find this truth there among them.
Your religion can be a powerful vehicle to help you reach later stages and spend more time there. How can you include your religion in your journey? How can your journey bring you closer to your faith?
