I am continually amazed with how powerful Reiki can be. In my studies to become a master teacher, I read extensively about and practiced all the applications of Reiki from humans to animals, to plants, forests, situations, travel, manifestation, human connection, and so much more. But nothing prepared me for what happened on a recent RV trip. We were staying in an incredible park, the RV travel camp at Ft Belvior, Virginia. Amazing views, very well thought out, and beautiful forests all around. I decided to offer some Reiki to the surrounding forest, in gratitude for this amazing space and the peaceful experience it allows. Within minutes, a dear came bounding towards me. A young stag. He stopped about 20 feet away and stared at me as I walked along a gravel road by the forest and sent Reiki. He watched me for what seemed like several minutes, then went on his way. Neat! I thought it was so cool that I sent more Reiki to the forest on my way back. Maybe that was a mistake. The next day, a skunk came though, and a raccoon came out of the tree line heading straight for me! I freaked out in surprise and scared him off, inadvertently. Apparently, the wildlife was ready to be a lot closer to me than I was comfortable with. The lesson here is this… Reiki is powerful stuff, best aimed carefully at specific individual animals, people, trees or objects. The blanket approach might attract more than you bargained for! LOL.
