The past two months have been so crazy that I forgot to post a Diary last month for the first time in YEARS. We had a nice vacation to Key Largo for a few days of relaxing in April and in May a fun visit to the DC area to celebrate one of my sons graduating with his PhD in Chemistry! I was a happy Mama because 4 of my sons were there together and I got to be with them all plus get some time with my granddaughter!
Meanwhile, it has been lesson after lesson on allowing both delay and acceleration. Geode’s funding round was delayed by geopolitical forces out of my control. There was nothing to do but let it be and wait. Better timing will come, likely this year, but we do not know when. I must accept the uncertainty and allow life to bring me what I need in other ways. Which it did.
I asked for help and boy did I get it. People are flooding into Geode in greater numbers and they all want to help. Some want to be Ambassadors and spread the word. Some want to be product testers and try out the apps to provide feedback and ideas. Some want to innovate new marketing techniques. And some want to program new features.
They see the vision, even as it evolves, and they are excited. They are coming from all over the world: The US, Nigeria, India, Brazil, the Philippines and more. Their joy is infectious. They see opportunity in so many aspects of it. The lesson is to let them lead. They have great ideas and I am working to keep up with them all, and integrate as many of them as I can into our processes, marketing and apps.
It feels like a new chapter for Geode characterized by significant collaboration with a much bigger and more active community. It is the first step of letting go of my baby project into the hands of humanity. That is challenging and exciting at the same time.
