Watching the movie, Don’t Look Up, I was reminded of a really useful exercise that I had not revisited in a long time. Give it a try. It goes like this: imagine that you have one minute to live. What will you do with your one minute? Now imagine that you have one hour. What will you do with that hour? One day? One week? One month? One year? Assume that, unlike the movie, humankind will go on, but you will not. It’s just you that is shuffling off this mortal coil. I love this exercise. It uses the famous stoic philosophy of momento mori (remember that you will die), to succinctly show you what your real priorities are. You will find that with each larger time frame, you add additional things to the list of what-would-you-do. For example, your one hour list will include things from the one minute list plus a little more. This shows you your priorities in order. Take a look at that list. It’s an opportunity to recognize the true priorities in your life. You may be surprised by how far down the list some of your projects really are, or by what bubbles to the top.
Meanwhile, check out this book: Numerology – Numbers And Their Infouence by RoseMaree Templeton. (Supports stage 7-9). This is one of the best numerology methodology books I have found. I have found her techniques easy to follow and a ton of fun to use in everyday life. Look it up on your favorite book app or store.
